Are you an experienced System Architect looking for an opportunity to spearhead system architecture within your own product range? Wygwam is looking for you!   


Function  
As System Architect, your main responsibilities will be to define, design, and document the architecture for products, solutions, services, and software in order to ensure on time and within budget the creation of system architecture that reaches our high expectations.   

You will collaborate closely with the business management. You will gather, analyze, interpret, integrate, and challenge the diverse information and requests as well as identify options related to capturing and conceptualizing the scope of the architectural work to be done. In addition, your key responsibilities will be:   

  • In line with the overall Wygwam strategy determine and control a number of architecture policies. 
  • Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to other Systems Architects and development team. 
  • Based upon the outputs of the scoping work gather, analyze, interpret, integrate a variety of specific requirements-related data; make related recommendations and propose an architecture road map.  
  • Based on long-term architecture vision evaluate, advise, and co-decide (with management) the adoption of technologies, new components and technics (make/buy) as well as various improvements. 
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility. 
  • Drive, monitor, and guard the architecture implementation. 
  • In line with the strategic objectives define, create, maintain/update and publish architecture-related documentation and inform/train others on the related know how.  
  • Where applicable design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems.

Profile

For this position, you hold a master's degree in engineering or similar. Furthermore, we expect you to have +5 years of experience working with system architecture in a similar position within R&D, preferably within the IoT Business. In addition, you possess the following competencies:   

  • Extensive experience in developing strategic systems architecture plan.  
  • Hands-on experience with business requirements. 
  • Proven experience in systems and network design and development.  
  • Strong understanding of information processing principles and practices.  
  • Proven project planning and management experience. 
  • Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. 
  • Exceptional understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.  
  • Excellent architecture and technical support documentation skills.  
  • Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies, trends, standards, and products.

On a personal level, you are a passionate system architect who is always up to date in terms of new technology, market development, customers and competitors in the market. You have strong interpersonal skills and appreciate working in a team-oriented, open and inclusive work environment. You have good communication skills and the ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language. Moreover, you have excellent written and verbal communications skills in Dutch and English.
